How much tax rebate do savings certificates give?

For assessment year 2026-27, investment in savings certificates and government securities counts for the rebate up to ৳5,00,000 a year.
How much tax it saves
10% of the counted amount comes off your tax, but the total rebate from all investments is no more than the lower of 3% of total income and ৳7,50,000. The full rule: how the rebate is worked out.
Keep in mind
What counts is the amount bought during the income year (July to June), not certificates bought in earlier years.
