About TaxHisab
Last updated
TaxHisab is a free income tax estimation tool for individual taxpayers in Bangladesh. Give it your income figures and it works out an estimated income tax under the published rules for the assessment year, showing every step separately.
What we do
- Quick calculator: an estimate in a minute from your monthly salary and taxpayer category.
- Detailed calculator: the full calculation across several income sources, the investment tax rebate, tax deducted at source and advance tax.
- PDF: a PDF copy of every calculation, stating its calculation ID and the version of the tax rules used.
- Tax rules page: the rates, tax-free thresholds, rebate and minimum tax the calculator uses, open for anyone to read.
What the calculation is based on
Every tax rate, tax-free threshold, investment rebate and minimum tax rule for the 2026-2027 assessment year is taken from the Income Tax Nirdeshika 2026-2027 published by the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Before any new set of rules goes live, the worked examples in the NBR's own guide are run through our calculator; if a single example does not match, the rules are not published.
Our principles
- Transparency: every figure in a result shows which rule it came from.
- No number is better than a wrong number: if the rules for an assessment year are not available, the calculator does not guess from the previous year's rules; it says that the calculation is not possible for now.
- No account needed: we never ask for a name, phone number, TIN or national ID number.
What we are not
TaxHisab is an independent initiative. It is not connected to the National Board of Revenue or any government body, and calculating here does not file an income tax return. Returns are filed through the NBR's e-Return system (etaxnbr.gov.bd). See the Disclaimer for details.
