Using TaxHisab needs no account, and we do not ask for your name, phone number, email, TIN or national ID number. This page explains what information the site actually takes, where it is kept and what it is used for.

Information you give

What you type into the calculator: taxpayer category, income figures, investments, tax deducted at source, advance tax and so on. This information is sent to our server, because the tax calculation is done on the server, not in your browser.

What we keep

  • Calculation records: when you press "Calculate", the figures you gave, the result, the step-by-step breakdown, the version of the tax rules used and the date and time are stored in our database under a random calculation ID (such as CAL-…). No name, IP address or other identity is attached to this record.
  • PDFs: when you download a PDF, the file is kept on the server so it does not have to be generated again for the same calculation.
  • Result links: the address of a result page carries only the calculation ID, never any figures. Anyone who has the link can see the result, so share it with care.

The calculations made for the detailed calculator's "summary so far" panel are not stored anywhere.

How long it is kept

Calculation records and PDFs are deleted automatically after 1 day. After that the result link and the PDF no longer open, so save the PDF yourself if you need it. Tax rules, their change history and administrative logs contain no personal calculation data and are not deleted. A calculation that was ever emailed to someone is kept beyond this period until an admin removes it.

What stays in your browser

  • Two necessary cookies: taxhisab.csrf for the security of form submissions, and taxhisab.lang to remember your chosen language (Bangla or English) when you switch. They hold no personal information and are not used to track you.
  • Temporary drafts: the figures typed into a form and the itemised income rows in the detailed calculator stay in that browser tab (sessionStorage), so a page refresh does not lose them. They are cleared when the tab is closed. The itemised rows are never sent to the server.

We use no advertising or tracking cookies, analytics scripts or social media pixels.

Usage statistics

To understand how the site is used, we keep some statistics ourselves: which pages were viewed, in which language, from what kind of device (phone, tablet or desktop), which site visitors came from, and how far through the calculator they went. No IP address, name or any figure you entered is kept with them. To count the same visitor once per day, a one-way hash of the IP address and browser is used, with a key that changes every day, so a visit on one day cannot be matched to another day. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers are used.

IP addresses and logs

Your IP address is used temporarily to prevent abuse (such as an unusually high number of requests in a short time). Technical logs are kept on the server to find faults; your income figures are not written to these logs. Our hosting provider may keep IP addresses and browser details in its own server logs.

Third parties

  • Google Fonts: the site's fonts load from Google's servers, so your browser connects to Google and Google can see your IP address.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: when the check that tells people from automated programs is switched on, forms load a small script from Cloudflare, which can see your IP address and browser details for that purpose.
  • Hosting and database: the site and its database run on a third-party hosting service.

We do not sell your information to anyone and do not use it for advertising. Information may be given to the appropriate authority only where the law requires it.

Connection security

If there is no padlock (HTTPS) in your browser's address bar, the information exchanged between you and the server is not encrypted. In that case do not enter anything you wish to keep private.

Changes

Changes to this policy will be published on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change.
