Every result on TaxHisab is an estimate. It is not a tax assessment by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), not a substitute for an income tax return, and not professional tax advice.

Sources of the calculation

Calculations for the 2026-2027 assessment year follow the NBR's Income Tax Nirdeshika 2026-2027 and the Income Tax Act, 2023 (as amended by the Finance Act, 2026). If the law, a notification or the NBR's interpretation changes, the result may differ. The law and the NBR's guidance are final.

What the calculator does not take into account

The following are currently outside the scope of this calculator. If any of them applies to you, your actual tax will differ from our estimate:

  • Allowances outside the government pay order: for an employee under a government pay order, the calculator assumes you have entered only basic pay, festival allowance and bonus. Any honorarium or allowance received outside the pay order (such as fees for teaching a class or attending a meeting) is taxable and must be entered separately under "Other taxable income".
  • Head-by-head income computations: the calculator does not itself work out business expenses allowed by law, capital gains or the rebate on income from a partnership firm. Enter the net taxable income determined under the law in those fields. Rental income and agricultural income are worked out from the gross figures you enter.
  • Per-instrument investment limits: such as a maximum of ৳1,20,000 in DPS and ৳5,00,000 in government securities. The calculator applies these limits, but you must enter the eligible amounts yourself.
  • Surcharges: the surcharge on net wealth and the environmental surcharge on multiple vehicles.
  • Time-based filing incentives and additional tax: the tax incentive for filing by 30 September and the additional tax for filing after 31 December.
  • Late filing for the 2025-2026 assessment year: a person who has filed before and does not file that year's return by 30 November 2025 loses the investment tax rebate. The calculator applies the rebate in every case.
  • Non-resident taxpayers, and firms, companies or any other organisation.
  • Tax-exempt income, income taxed at a reduced rate, and income subject to final tax: do not enter such income in the calculator.

Excess tax paid

When tax deducted at source and advance tax paid exceed your tax liability, the calculator shows ৳0 tax payable and shows the excess separately as "excess tax credit". This is not a guarantee of a refund. Whether the excess is refunded or adjusted against a later year is decided by the tax authority after the return is filed.

Your responsibility

The result depends entirely on the information you provide; we do not verify it. Before filing a return or paying tax, check your figures against the NBR's guide and, where needed, seek the help of an income tax lawyer or tax adviser.

Limitation of liability

TaxHisab accepts no liability for any decision taken in reliance on calculations on this site, or for any penalty, interest or other loss that results. TaxHisab is not connected to the NBR or any government body.
