When is the income tax return deadline?

For assessment year 2026-2027, an individual who files the return by 31 December 2026 pays no additional tax. Filing after that adds additional tax on the tax payable.

| 1 July to 30 September | a tax incentive of 5% of the tax payable or ৳25,000, whichever is lower |
| 1 October to 31 December | neither an incentive nor additional tax |
| 1 January to 31 March | additional tax of 2% of the tax payable or ৳3,000, whichever is higher |
| 1 April to 30 June | additional tax of 5% of the tax payable or ৳5,000, whichever is higher |
A first-time filer may file by the 30 June after the income year ends. Returns are filed on the NBR's e-Return site (etaxnbr.gov.bd); TaxHisab does not file returns, it helps you understand the figures first.
